Randy has over 30-years of experience as a certified Building and Commercial Electrical Inspector, Electrician and Construction Manager.  His extensive experience as a senior electrical inspector also includes 27 years as an electrical contractor.  He has a thorough knowledge of the National Electric Code, OSHA Standards and ICC codes.  Through the years, Randy has worked on numerous projects including:

  • The prototype of the FasTrak automatic toll collection system (Carquinez Bridge)

  • Developed in-house and built SCADA system on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge based on the Caltrans 170 controller

  • Installed a process line for carbon fiber fabric lay-up (YLA Advanced Composite Materials, Inc., Benicia)

  • Engineered, designed and installed all electric for Kodak Film Processing Center, No. CA (Benicia)

  • Engineered, designed and installed manufacturing facilities for Applied Poleramic, a subcontractor to Department of Defense (DARPA Programs)

Responsible for all aspects of design, construction, completion, and approvals  Various upgrades to new supercomputer center ( CRT ) including, N7,N8 new computer installs, N9 design, electrical distribution upgrades, generator upgrades, VESDA modifications, EPO upgrades, additional 200hp pumps and heat exchanger.

Construction Manager/MEP Coordinator for $145 million dollar National Energy Research Scientific Center (NERSC/CRT) building with $100 million dollar high performance supercomputer installation. A unique aspect of the project was no chillers for large supercomputer heat loads.

Manager/Electrical Inspector for $28 million energy saving performance contractor to meter 83 buildings and provide ALC DDC control and supervision of buildings at LLNL.

Building Inspector II
City of Vallejo

Duties included inspection of all aspects of construction, which include residential and commercial projects, reviewing plans and specifications, interpreting contract documents, and review and response to information requests.

  • $4 M TI and Seismic Upgrade of Empress Theatre. Eighty-year-old UMC (unreinforced masonry construction) - complete electrical, plumbing, and HVAC replacement. Rebuilt and updated stage proscenium and fly grid. 

  • $2.2 M TI of Ghiringhelli Foods. New FDA approved packaged food production facility and distribution center.  

City of Vallejo

Maintained traffic signals, installed $10M city-wide fiber optic network,connected 92 signals and enabled coordination of city-wide traffic signals and automatic traffic data acquisition.

Toll Bridge Electrician

Upgrading, installing and maintaining all traffic control devices, navigation aids and lighting systems of the 7 Bay Area Toll Bridges.

Various Construction Projects

As the owner of an electrical contracting firm, Randy has extensive experience in the design concept and electrical engineering of many varied types of Tenant Improvement Contracts. As manager of these projects, he has scheduled, bid and implemented the completion of varied types of applications including manufacturing, medical, dental, distribution and office projects.

Mare Island Naval Shipyard

Four-year apprenticeship training including one year of schooling, eight hours a day and three years of on the job training, including assignments in instrument calibration, test control center, switchboard shop, and motor and controller shops.
